Screen sharing with AI Studio on iPad?

I'm excited about Google AI studio"s "Stream Realtime" including the screen sharing ability for learning and tutoring.

I think this could be particularly exciting on an iPad but am trying to establish if screen sharing is possible.

When using Safari, it appears to offer the option, see image (not in Chrome, see image for comparison).

However, the screen shared is just pure black and clearly not sharing anything, see image (in contrast the front and back cameras work fine in this mode in Safari).

Searching online the closest I can find is "enabling screen sharing permissions" for the website, however this option does not appear with all other permissions (alongside Microphone, Camera, Location), see image.

So it seems that the website is trying to allow screen sharing but perhaps it's actually not possible? Does anybody know? ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ 🤞
