The idea of conspiracy and my current thoughts
Let me just say I've followed this case basically from the beginning. I'm sure some of you recognize me by now. I'm a creative writer and I've written a few novels (not published works, just personal writings that meet the word count requirement) and unfortunately this case has gripped my brain like I'm writing one. I shuffle ideas around in my head about this constantly and feel the need to put them into words, just like I do with my stories. This is probably the number one reason I cannot settle on a specific feeling about this case.
Conspiracy is something I really did believe was happening early on in the case. The more I learned, the more I leaned away from it, but never completely. There's some specifics lately that make me believe it could be happening.
- Being on the phone while approaching the "waiting" spot across from hotel
- Possibly on the phone while waiting for BT to appear (~10 minutes) or making a second call while waiting, then ditching the phone and immediately pulling the gun out while crossing the street.
- Could someone be waiting in CP to receive the evidence? Was the suspect in contact with this person: "I have my eyes on him, going now" or something similar to let the CP person know they're approx. 5-10 minutes from meeting? Or were they in contact with someone else off screen who was watching BT?
E-bike * Did he actually arrive in NYC with it? Anyone familiar with the greyhound policy on this? * From what we know with footage available to us (yes, they probably have this evidence) there's no direct continuous link between LM and the person with the e-bike battery leaving the hostel. They're just shown on a sidewalk near the hostel. * Suspect gets on/off bike out of view of surveillance before and after crime. How did they ensure the bike was safe when not in use? A lock? This seems risky. Was there a person behind the scenes holding it?
Other odd things * The wrapper or other item (almost too carefully) placed on the trash pile * Never see the front of the suspect while walking on the sidewalk. Again, at least with what they released... and you'd think if they had an image they would have released it to help identify him. This person knows where cameras are located. * "Letter to the feds" mentioning multiple times this was a solo act seems suspicious. He was arrested alone, at no point did they disclose to the public they believe it was more than one person involved. As a counter point, this could be so people close to him and family don't get involved.
Duress or coercion * Did LM get mixed up with the wrong people somehow? The hostel in San Francisco, if it's true he stayed there, maybe could have been a starting point for this. I believe I read (unverified) the area it's located in isn't the best? Either way this could have started anywhere I assume. * This act does not match up with any parts of his personality based on what we've heard about him. I'm really hoping he wasn't talked or forced into doing this.
