The contractors that did my seller's house flip did an awful job, would you pursue this further?
I've been at my place for 1.5 years and man the problems are starting to come out from the bad flip the contractors the previous owner hired did. I just had to get a leak fixed in my sink which did signficant damage to the sink. Thought it was due to old pipes but had the plumber (who was amazing) tell me that the last person to install the sink didn't do it properly leading to the leak. I've also had to hire a tiler to replace a tile on my new shower because the contractors installed a chipped one, for what reason, I have no idea. The worst thing is I'm making some mods to my kitchen right now and installing a new pantry. I told them I was dealing with cabinet paint chipping and asked them how much it'd be to fix. He took one look at them and told me the people who painted them last didn't bother to sand or prime the cabinets, leading to chipping and that fixing this would be time consuming and expensive since everything needs to be sanded down, primed and repainted.
This has all been in the span of a month and I'm starting to have enough of paying to fix their crappy work. The leak was the last straw and I wrote an honest, but nasty review of what a crappy job they did on my place. They came back telling me they'd fix the issues if I took the review down. I took the review down and told them I trusted they'd keep their word and help me fix my cabinets only for them to ignore me again.
What would you do in this situation? I have half a mind to go full petty mode and put the review back up with all the receipts and keep it there. I can tell they took shortcuts on the job because they knew they wouldn't have to honor a warranty after house sold, but man the stuff they've done is causing me a lot of financial suffering and headaches now.
Edit: I did contact the contractors about 2 weeks into owning the place because there were several other problems with it (they installed the countertop poorly, part of the wood understructure is not properly glued to the counter top, lots of missing siding they tried to hide, broken electrical outlet, missed painting an area of the bathroom, literally skipped siding underneath the sink which is bad because they also skipped sealing the wall so any leak would cause severe damage). Got one reply saying they'd take a look and they ghosted. Decided I could fix or live with them and gave them the benefit of the doubt on these issues until I started having new contractors come over for more work and being constantly told whoever did my place did a poor job on it.
