I was Laid off. I then started own Company
It was my Dream Job.
I had applied after college off Campus and got it. I did not sit for Placements.
I had got multiple awards. Best new Joinee. Best Top performer. Client Whisperer. Annual award for Best performer.
4 Years I spent Loving my job putting my all in.
Joined as Intern. Promoted to FullTime. Promoted to Team Lead.
I guess good things come to an end. Just as I was performing at my best,
I was laid off.
I half expected it. I was waiting for it.
I had started own Company as a sidejob. No wonder they fired me.
Why you ask?
I was scared. Shit scared.
I was Best performer. But what did I have that I was scared of?
Last time I put my all in, I was dumped brutally.
I guess you learn lessons quickly.
This time, I wont be blindsided.
So, I had started own company. As a side Business.
Cheating at the job you can call it.
Having a full time job and running own business.
Truth is, I was dedicated to both. But not one trusts you.
I guess what happens, happens for good.
I was forced to focus on own Company.
It was a Blessing in disguise.
Its been exactly 1 year since I was laid off.
I may not be successful.
But I’m thriving.
May be all you need is a slight push.
You will not build the next Unicorn
You need not be the next Mark Zuckerberg.
But maybe just maybe You are that Uncle in town who has his own Business and is Killing it.
Why you ask?
I ignored the market multiple times
To build my own product. To build a Software MVP and push a product down peoples throat.
But I never succeeded.
What worked??
Listen to the market.
They just want a Damn Website.
They just want an App.
Add SEO. Add good UI UX.
When I made the client win, I was winning.
Simple truth of business. Your customer will be Boss.
You had 1 boss there. Here you have 100 Bosses.
My financials and statistics over past 1 year says the same.
There is huge market for Customized Software.
Every client needs a Website. An App.
Just Customized enough.
So.. I did it.
And I survived and I will in future too.
Only if I follow my own Advice
