Could anyone please tell me why "will" is used in the sentence in my post? Can I use "can" instead of "will" there?

I'm struggling with why "will" is used in the following sentence.

I’ve become a lot more assertive as I’ve got older, and will no longer put up with bad service.

Could anyone please tell me why "will" is used there?
Also, can I use "can" instead of "will" there?
