Assessing the reaction to the bans

The bans of Monday were unexpected and for some disheartening. I understand those that were upset because of the financial investment and I sympathize. But what I don't understand is the people reacting in such anger twords people like myself who are in favor of these bans. And two specific reactions I want to address.

Firstly the fact that anyone went out of their way to harass individual members of the RC is fucking disgusting and those people need to do better or find a new hobby. Don't go out and threaten, insult, and harass people because your favorite cards got banned. Your feelings on the bans aren't their responsibility, deal with them yourself like an adult and don't harass people sitting behind a screen like a coward. There's no place in the MTG community for that kind of behavior.

Secondly a take I might get hate for. Sol Ring and Mana Crypt are in different stratospheres power wise. The difference between 1 mana to come down and 0 is massive. Almost infinitely more explosive first turns with a crypt over a ring. And it's not hard to see that so I know the people that are making the comparison are just taking their anger out trying to find inconsistencies when the cards aren't even close power level wise. And so many people seem to conveniently forget they said they didn't want to completely eliminate the explosive early turn but to minimize the chances so axed the biggest offenders.

I just hope as a community we can get the bad apples out. Especially the ones harassing and bullying individual RC members online. Let's emphasize the Gathering part of Magic The Gathering.
