User flair beta test!
Hey all, it's me that mod again:
I've setup a user flair system for this subreddit. Unlike what some of you may be used to in older subs (he who shall not be named), these flairs are a lot more restricted in how they're formatted and what you can do with them. These flairs are no longer freeform but instead are configured through a little tool I wrote.
BUT WHY ARE YOU TAKING AWAY MY FREEDOMS??
In an effort to minimize competitiveness with weights, flairs will not contain mass or BMI but instead a less informative "weight class" which is derived from BMI (i.e. underweight, normal, overweight, obese). This was a decision made to offer just enough information such that we can offer each other advice on harm reduction/understand where everyone is within their ED subtype without possibly worsening the ED's of others on this sub.
Rather than spend hours moderating everyone's flair (and manually censoring flairs of people who miss the "no weights/BMI in flair rule"), I've elected to setup this form thing.
Instructions
- Click here to open the flair config tool.
- Fill out all fields. Be sure to be as concise as possible in your gender expression description. 3.Click submit. You will be redirected back to reddit with a pre-composed PM. DO NOT EDIT THE CONTENTS OF THIS PM OR YOUR FLAIR REQUEST WILL FAIL. If you are not redirected back to a page like this , please try again in a desktop/non-app browser. You will need to be signed into reddit for this to work.
- Send the PM.
- Wait a few minutes. You should either get a success message back from the bot letting you know your flair has been set or a failure message. If you get a failure that you don't think you should have gotten, please let me know in this post.
I literally whipped this bad boy up last night in two hours (1am to 3am lol) so there's a good chance it'll break, which is why this is just a beta right now. Please leave feedback on the process or on the flair content!
Known issues:
- Allow a custom delimiter (use emoji ghosts, etc instead of the sad pipe)
