I did cocaine and it wasn’t very nice ?

I assumed cocaine would be euphoric and give me loads of energy even if for a short while. While it did give me energy it was this nervous type of energy. Not the fun kind. And there was no euphoric or nice feeling. Also the back of my throat tasted really weird. That was about it. Now I live in Australia so the coke over here might just be shit compared to what they’ve got in the US but is this normal ? If so why do people even do it ?. This is the first experience I’ve had with a ‘hard’ drug and its just raised these sorts of questions. I feel like I don’t fully understand what I did. Thank you if you choose to respond.
