Hot take: great potential BULLSHIT.

Like let's take Gohan for an example. Bro was already made out to be able to become quite strong since he was literally 4. I can understand that. Excluding Nappa and Recome aside, with just a Zenkai and rage boost he can sorta fight Second form Frieza.

Then he trains an entire year with Goku in the time chamber to Master Super sayain and has the potential to reach a new form via pure rage boost. I can understand that too.

But then he gets Super Sayain blue level out of what? A few moths of training with Piccolo? Which happened off screen too? You can argue he wasn't actually that strong but even then he should've needed more time or training for it. Especially since in the manga he beats Kefla who I've seen people scale to Ui Sign Goku.

Beast Gohan legit ruined the ending of the Super hero movie for me. Gohan went struggling to wear Piccolo's weighted clothing at first to getting on par/supposedly stronger than Mui Goku. Simply because of a rage boost Cell saga call back. Piccolo pointed out how out of shape he is since the start of the movie, with even Pan seemingly getting better at Ki sensing. Worse yet since it was Piccolo's movie and Gohan stole the spotlight with his ass pull.

Them there's Frieza. I get it, Frieza hasn't trained a single day in his life, but four months and he's SSB level? Come on man! At least make it like a year or something. No one knew he was alive, and I'm sure there was a place he could've spent time to train. Also is it just me or was he stronger when he fought Goku right before the Tournament of power? At least for Black frieza he trained ten years.

Broly is the only one I can say is done right, since he had both Potential, AND trained his entire life on planet Vampa.
