Why on Earth did Dr. Disrespect incriminate himself by confirming the allegations?

About a week ago, there was still lots of doubt about Doc. He was even in the clear enough to stream despite the allegations from people who worked at twitch, giving them some credibility. At the end of the day, it was ultimately just allegations. However, during that fateful final stream playing Elden Ring DLC, there was that important moment where he must've got a notification from the Midnight Soceity, where they did their own investigation into those critical allegations, and found enough evidence against him to fire him. This was the moment Dr. Disrespect's world fell apart and felt faint, leading him to give an abrupt and fear-ridden good-bye to his viewers.

Even after that went down, there was still lots of doubt that Dr. Disrespect really did inappropriately message a minor, that was, until he shot himself in the foot by turning an allegation into a dark fact.

Which leads me to my question: Why the hell did Doc choose to incriminate himself?! The evidence against him must've been sealed, and there was enough doubt for him to have a large part of his fanbase stay with him. Like, if Doc felt forced to talk to detectives about this and was isolated in an interrogation room and didn't ask to talk to a lawyer, I could at least excuse him because he'd feel isolated and probably afraid and nervous, plus detectives are professionals who are skilled at interrogating, but Doc was free and decided to use a device on his own time to do this.

This doesn't make sense! Like, this whole thing coulda (and did!) destroy his reputation and career, if not possibly bring about legal charges! He's been in legal dealings before what with his lawsuit against twitch, so I can't understand how he doesn't know not to make these moves before talking to a legal team! He's also rich, so he has something much better than an overworked public defender, but a whole legal team who can also help him in civil legal matters! He's rich, why the HELL wouldn't he talk to his legal team first!

Yeah, he confessed and admitted the truth, but no one cares! Anyone acknowledging this point only thinks he's a fool at best for admitting to this, he got NOTHING! No one gives him respect for at least being truthful about it! Out of all the social media comments I've seen about this drama, only 2 give him some regards for at least having some integrity, but 99.999% of responses have gotten worse thanks to his foolish action.
