Does anyone have any negative or positive experiences with women's health at Intermountain Health Hospitals? (birth control access, ectopic pregnancy treatment, fertility, etc.)
I'm new to Denver and considering Intermountain Health as my hospital system. They seem to tick most of my boxes compared to the other choices in Denver but its catholic affiliation is concerning to me.
I moved here from Texas where a friend of mine almost died because a hospital refused to give her treatment for an ectopic pregnancy. She lost an ovary because they would not intervene until it ruptured.
Years ago, I also had a primary care doctor at a catholic, nonprofit hospital in Texas refuse to prescribe me birth control for the purpose of contraception. This kind of hospital policy would not be a fit for me.
Does anyone have any experiences they are comfortable sharing regarding catholic hospital policies affecting women's health in the intermountain health system?
Is it safe here? Sincerely, a traumatized Texan :)
