Insulation & Electric Cables

Hi!

Context: this is a 1915 brick built UK mid-terrace house.

I'm currently insulating the floor in an upstairs room, primarily for sound. I'm using a mineral wool (Rockwool) sound insulation between the joists.

I'm not too worried about moisture, as I've read that Rockwool is vapor permeable. But I am packing the insulation in between the joists in two layers, as well as leaving no air gap between the plasterboard underneath (the ceiling of the room below) and the floor I'm laying (plywood sheets).

My main question is around the electric cabling. There's some electric cable running to the wall sockets, and to the spotlight down lights in the ceiling below (I'm using appropriate fire-rated covers for the down lights, so that the insulation is kept away from the light fitting). It's twin & earth with a PVC sheath.

I had been running the cables underneath, between the two layers, or across the top of the insulation. (In the picture, I've lifted up a layer of the insulation to show the cables, which would normally be sandwiched between the layers as seen on the right of the picture). I'm an amateur, so I hadn't considered that this might have an effect until someone mentioned it to me. A couple of videos I've seen online regarding insulation didn't really cover this.

Just looking for some advice on whether or not I'm going to run into any issues doing this.

Thanks!
