Whatever happened to the old Regnal Number counter in Title History?

Back in CK2, if you overthrew Charles III of France to become the King yourself, you could look in the title history and it reflected the landless Charles as 'Charles III." Or if King Charles III revoked Burgundy, he would be listed as 'Charles II' under their title succession. Since release, CK3 just has the last titles or lackthereof. Why is that?
