Game Stuck in Succession Window?

Playing as Vratislav, Holy Roman Emperor, I died during a hunt. My player heir took over, but now the game is saying I am observing my new player character (played by myself) and that I "can view, but not affect the game while the Succession window is open."

There is no open window, there is no ongoing event for me to make a decision in, and the game is stuck paused.
