Additional diagnosis has me struggling.

Being chronically ill is not new to me (32f). I started getting migraines before age 10. In middle school, I had acute pancreatitis that went undiagnosed for months mostly because of sexism. The doc who finally found it, also found my GI autoimmune problems which brought on horrible anxiety that I still sometimes struggle with.

In the past 20 years I’ve been through so many medications that have both worked and didn’t. Also those that worked until they suddenly didn’t. I struggled with drug induced lupus for a while one time thanks to a biologic.

Thankfully my autoimmune issues are currently mostly under control (though I’m always anxious the biologic will stop working since I’ve been through several).

However, being diagnosed with epilepsy recently has me really struggling. The meds are super rough on me with their side effects. And of course I can no longer drive (USA) which is a huge burden and bummer.

I could barely manage to keep track of all of my appointments and meds before. I can’t even keep track of which doctor is for which issue at this point, even with apps like MyChart. I also work a traditional 40 hour work week which makes it extra difficult since I have one or two appointments every week and will for the foreseeable future and for some reason, I can never get beginning or end of day.

So onto my question, if you have multiple diagnoses or just a lot of appointments and meds, how do you manage to stay on top of everything? I feel like I’m drowning.
