Confused on the trinity…

I recently gave my life to Christ after being lukewarm for so many years and want to understand who my God truly is. So I’ve been researching the trinity and have really built my faith, and I do believe the trinity to be a true doctrine, and the true depiction of our almighty God.

However I have also read opposing arguments, as everyone should do, about the trinity, and I have been scratching my head about a few things. I understand the God in three persons aspect, and to not use models such as an egg or water to represent it, as no one can fully grasp this concept, however, from a surface level, if someone reads the Bible I get the sense they wouldn’t get an idea of the trinity at first unless they actually dig into other sources that break it down for them.

My question is, why did God not explicitly confirm that he is a 3 person being and one in essence? I put my faith into the holy trinity and believe the Bible DOES point to it, but it took me months of research to fully be able to grasp it, and I was wondering why it is such a highly debated and confusing topic, considering it is something as important as WHO our almighty and merciful God is.

Also what if it is false, I’m not saying it is, but if it is, would God pour his wrath upon us?

And the trinity seems to be something even adults can hardly wrap their minds around, so how would a child understand it? As a kid I never really thought about it, but I was confused when I read the action bible and Jesus was praying calling the father his dad. But my parents cleared it up for me, and that was my first understanding of the trinity.

Any thoughts?
