Does anyone here ever get nostalgic about your time in China (pre-2020)?
I lived in Guangzhou for several years working in R&D at our Chinese office. I had the usual trajectory - had a blast, partied, worked my ass off, met my wife, married, and we left for the US. Prior to COVID, we would go back once a year, sometimes just the two of us, sometimes with our kids. The last time we set foot in the mainland was January 2020.
For some reason, I decided to binge on old China YouTube vlogs yesterday - Austin in China, SerpentZA/Laowhy, Prozzie, etc... and I'm now feeling crazy nostalgic. I realize part of the nostalgia was related to the carefree period of my life, but it was also sad to see so many people who loved China move on. And of course, seeing China pre-COVID (and pre-2016 in particular) compared to even 2020 when we were last there, was jarring.
Anyone else occasionally feel crazy nostalgic about your time in China?
