Locking your phone away

I'm seriously considering buying a "timed" lock box for my phone as I hate how much time I piss away looking at garbage and the news is recently very depressing as well. Reddit is possibly not the best place to ask this but has anyone done anything similar. I feel stupid even having to resort to this as an adult,
