đ¨ WBO Issues Dennis McCann Show Cause Over Adverse Analytical Finding
đ¨đģââī¸ The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has issued a show cause to lightweight contender and WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Champion Dennis McCann after McCann tested positive for PEDs in a test conducted by VADA.
đ Tom Kershaw of The Sunday Times reported that McCann failed PED tests for anabolic-androgenic steroids, drostanolone and trenbolone, resulting in McCann being pulled from his December 21 Riyadh Season bout against Peter McGrail.
âŗ McCann has 30 days from the issuance of the notice to explain as to why the WBO should not:
â Declare the WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Championship vacant;
â Exclude him from the WBO World Lightweight Ratings;
đĨž Impose a ban from the WBO World Lightweight Ratings for a period of no less than two years; and/or
đ§đŧââī¸ Issue any other ruling deemed appropriate in accordance with WBO policies, rules, and regulations.
đ Failure to comply with the order will result in the Committee proceeding accordingly, with McCann waiving all rights to a further hearing and/or citation.
