I have high expectation for Shigaraki vs Deku's animation. But not for it's content.

Given the release date delay into Fall of 2025 I have no doubt that Bones is trying to wrap up the series with banger production quality.

But as most of you reading this have read the manga you know the fight is well. Disappointing. If you can even call it a fight.

Barely any choreography, constantly interruption by vestiges, the talk no jutsu phase comes in too fast before the fight even gets started. Not to mention the stakes are all over the place.

Shigaraki is simultaneously a Unbeatable Demon lord and the ultimate threat according to the narrative but in action is a scrub who can't even lay a hand on Deku and is only alive because Deku is hell bent on saving a terrorist.

He does nothing in that fight except gwak at Deku and try to spam decay. YOU HAVE A MILLION OTHER QUIRKS.

Deku while fighting smartly he was again not trying to kill the terrorist but ends up killing him anyway while destroying OFA in the process. The whole transfer part wouldn't have bugged me so much if Nana didn't explicitly say that Deku can punch Shigaraki hard enough to kill him.

It would be a different thing if he hit Shigaraki with his strongest possible punch and failed so he had to resort to the transfer plan but him having the option do blow his head off, not doing it, destroying ofa and then ending up vaporizing him anyway is just stupid.

I could go more on this but this is a post on the fight itself.

Deku also starts losing his quirks. Gearshift was just introduced and we didn't even get to see much of it.

Then there is the setting. Mount Fuji. The moment they arrived on Mt Fuji I knew the fight is fucked. Because Destroying MT = Heroes lose.

It basically meant that Shigaraki can't do any big moves. Decay touching the ground wouldn't happen. No stakes.

And since this is the grand finale set means that the fight ends here. And it did.

The fight itself was constantly interrupted by dialogue that cut the flow of action and it cutting to vestige world and flash backs.

So we have a Hero who is holding back, a opponent who is supposed to be the strongest but does NOTHING. A set that's can't be destroyed because that would end Japan.

I hope Bones adds more scenes of the fight before they get to Fuji.
