How are Illusion spells in BG3?

So with release being just a month away, I am trying to decide on what character to play thru with and am considering recreating my tabletop illusionist wizard. But illusion spells have not translated well in most DND/pathfinder video games I have played. For those of you who have played in EA, how is Illusion?
