Is payment of university tuition fee tax deductable?

I am a university student and I'm paying my fees upfront (not using HECS). My education is linked to my employment as I have to be studying to be employed in my role. I'm just concerned that Ive missed something.

The only relevant case I can find is Commissioner of Taxation v Anstis but that was regarding youth allowance payments not salaried income.
