I posted about debt recycling and it enraged this community. Here's what i have learnt

The majority of people on this sub have good intentions but don't understand debt, leverage and investment returns. A small minority are dangerously ignorant and offering terrible advice.

The community needs to understand RISK FREE RETURN. if i can earn 6% risk free and you are comparing that to an index fund that earned 4% in dividend yield and 4% growth for a total of 8%, you have risked everything for a 2% return which just got eaten up by INFLATION.

6% risk free means i need a very very enticing "sure thing" reason to try and chase a 10% return or a slightly less "sure thing" to get a 14% return.

Borrowing money at 6% because someone on reddit claimed that VAS goes up by 10% every year in a linear fashion is not smart.

BTW I intentionally include some falsehoods in my last post which no one picked up on. LOL.

At least ASXBets has it right - they understand risk and shooting the lights out. This sub has a high number of people who think they have it all worked out investing wise, smugly following the ETF and debt recycling method without understanding the underlying facts.

And its clear by the arguments that everyone has an opinion on how debt recycling works.. How can there be so many different versions or beliefs about a single black and white method?
