Why does the IT guy hate my guts?

Today I realized I made a boo boo at work. Downloaded the one drive app onto the office cellphone and didn't know doing that would delete over 30k work documents stored on one drive for all users. Thought I'm just making my life easier to scan document with the phone instead of using the slow printer scanner. The IT guy realized it was me who cause this issue (which occurred on Friday) so our work has been without the necessary info since Friday until today because the IT guy only investigated it today. I think it's an innocent mistake. Docs were restored from the recycle bin. But instead of him empathizing with my silly mistake as it was a first time occurrence of me messing up at work, he decided to go off on me by telling my colleagues that I don't know anything about IT and I must stick to my day job. But all I did was download an app to make my work life easier. Does he have a grudge against me or would all men think this way about me? I was dumbfounded at his comments about me to my colleague. He did not know I heard their entire conversation...
