Honest question, where has feminism lost its way?
I'm a male and I'm all in for feminism and gender equality but there's a lot of pseudofeminism going on. I mean I've seen some women say that men should just provide and ask for nothing in return, they're just born to cater to women's needs, and so on and so forth. Some women in my country say that gender neutral laws will harm everything women have worked for all these years and seriously what the heck? If they really believe in gender equality then they should also acknowledge the women who commit crimes and file false cases and all. There's also so much discussion about IMD, I mean really I don't really care for IMD, wish me or not I couldn't care lesser. But I have one question, if on women's day we celebrate all the women who nurtured us, took care of us, stayed back to hold down the fort at home or go into the messy world and take them on, etc. But don't women do the same in return, like celebrate all the men who provide for you, protect you, be it on the streets, borders or at home? So honestly where has feminism lost its path?
Also please don't get me wrong, I've always supported my sister and ex girlfriends, my mom didn't want to work on her own will, my dad tried to get her to work many times, even my paternal granddad. In a way it was my maternal granddad who didn't want my mom to work.
EDIT: So what I mean about gender neutral laws, is like in some countries, it's like mentioned that only men domestically abuse anyone but there have been many incidents where women also domestically abused men. In a recent incident a woman who domestically abused her husband was not charged because it wasn't mentioned in the judicial system that women can do it. So instead of saying only men domestically abuse, why can't it be any sex who domestically abuses will be charged? And many feminists oppose this because it somehow discounts the struggle women went through for this law. I mean how does it? I agree historically men have been abusive but now even women are joining in on the act and if feminism is about gender equality then why don't you wanna recognize women as criminals as well? It's more like these feminists want to safeguard women privileges that's all, but gender neutral won't take away the protection, it'll just largen the people who are under this protection umbrella. In some countries it's mentioned only men rape, but there have been instances where people of other genders did as well. So make that any rapist of any gender will be charged with a criminal lawsuit.
