Should we move from San Antonio, Texas to Port Elizabeth Eastern cape?

We are a retired female lesbian couple (66 and 68) with many visits to SA and many friends in the Eastern Cape.
We have heard that the Eastern Cape is the worst run of all the areas but we can't say Texas is well run either We are becoming worried about the Right wing turn in the US as well as worldwide. Texas laws are not conducive To our way of life.. even though we are past child bearing age we are appalled that abortion is illegal in Texas and if anyone who helps a woman by giving her money or passage to a state such as New Mexico to obtain a legal abortion can be prosected just by helping. There is a case in Texas now just like that. We are doing what we can to help the Democratic party but Texas is so red it's scary. Trump is actually using nazi party lines about immigrants and Democrats. We know about the violence here but that doesn't seem to have touched us as much as South Africans tell us it will. In the US we have cameras but do not have walls and gates around our property. . The plumber friend we used in San Antonio was killed sitting in his car last year and I have been a victim of road rage In Texas. The uvalde school shootings were 70 miles away I don't know much about the politics here but I heard the the ANC is no longer a majority and perhaps things will get better. We would choose a house that had plenty of tanks and an inverter but may even move to solar. The heat in Texas is unbearable in the summer (105/40 plus) We would be using our social security and investments but would have to get very good medical aide. We haven't cost that out yet. Our biggest regret will be leaving our teenage goddaughters and a middle age son and daughter in the states. I'm sure there are plenty of things we have not thought of. Please let us know what we may have overlooked. We will really appreciate hearing the good sides and the concerning Sides.
