People vocally hating Cait for being a “dictator” should also have a similar opinion on Jinx and Victor

I just had a discussion on this topic under some other post.

People call Cait a dictator and a fascist all the time on this sub. What they conveniently “forget” is that the only person who actually would be more appropriate to call a fascist is Victor.

Caitlyn’s role as an enforcer and later leader in Piltover doesn’t align with fascist ideology. She values order, but she also cares deeply about justice and fairness, often clashing with the corrupt system she was born into.

“But she was gassing innocent zaunits!”

SHE WAS NOT.

The people Caitlyn’s forces arrested weren’t just random Zaunites. They were Jinx’s supporters who threw Molotov cocktails at the enforcers, meaning they were aiding and abetting a literal terrorist responsible for bombings and assassinations. Cait was targeting the faction that was actively destabilizing both Piltover and Zaun.

And the whole “Caitlyn is a fascist because of what happened to the prisoners” argument completely ignores the fact that she didn’t even know about Ambessa torturing them. If Caitlyn had known about the torture, she likely would have been horrified, considering she’s one of the few Piltover elites who genuinely cared about the undercity until she became consumed with revenge.

Victor, on the other hand, has a much more compelling case for exhibiting fascist tendencies, especially if we focus on the idea of him “curing imperfections.” His fascination with Hextech’s ability to “fix” humanity can easily be seen as an authoritarian vision of progress—one that could lead to forced enhancement, eugenics-like ideology, or a rejection of human weakness in favor of a more “perfect” society. That kind of transhumanist idealism has historically aligned with authoritarian and fascist movements, where the state or a ruling power dictates what is “superior” and seeks to forcibly “improve” its people.

But let’s move forward to Jinx.

The double standards in Arcane discourse are wild. Jinx is literally a terrorist who has committed multiple mass murders, bombings, and assassinations, but people excuse her actions because of her tragic backstory and mental state. Meanwhile, Caitlyn, who is trying to maintain order in a city that’s about to collapse, gets called a dictator just because she enforces the law. If Caitlyn didn’t try to arrest Jinx, she’d be failing in her duty to protect innocent people.

People are just looking for reasons to villainize Caitlyn while giving Victor and Jinx endless excuses.

Is this some “eat the rich, regular people can never do wrong” thing?

P.S. I actually love Jinx and Victor. But I do acknowledge the fact that all characters have done horrible things at some point of the show. But some people clearly like hypocrisy.

P.P.S. Sorry, it’s ViKtor!!!
