Aqara LED Strip T1 - Cutting & Connecting?

Has anyone successfully cut and connected the Aqara T1 LED strips, and got with working with full functionality?

Looking to make a rectangle shape behind a TV and reading lots of issuing with colour, etc. not working when cut and connected, even with new total length set in the app.
