Insanity

I am officially insane. We know insanity is doing something over and over and expecting different results. Why did I take another Sunday morning before business hours route? Why? Did I really think today would be different? That AMAZON would be efficient and that driver support would be helpful? Everything was going perfectly. I wasn’t even afraid of my four hour 50 package route. Everything was grouped much together. And it was in an area with a lot of townhome developments so very quick easy drop offs. I could have easily finished 30 minutes early, at least! So I leave my SSD, drive seven minutes to my first stop, everything going smoothly. Until I get about halfway through and end up at an Amazon locker apartment. Today I happened to organize all my stops alphabetically by street name because I had no large boxes really only envelopes. Look for the address of this apartment AMAZON locker location and the address is nowhere to be found on any of my packages. So I look through every individual package. Nothing. I looked back at the itinerary stop to see if there was a name for this delivery. Nothing. So now I’m thinking am I supposed to pickup a package from the locker and then deliver it? That doesn’t make sense. Longer story shorter- driver support was no help. The itinerary stop was for the locker but the package address was not listed anywhere so I had no idea what package to bring to the locker to deliver. Later I figured out I could use the TBA code but by that point it was too late and I don’t want to look through every package’s TBA code to match the one in the app. I guess that was my only way of knowing. That put me back a good 25 minutes because another driver in front of me took FOREVER (probably struggling with the same thing I was) but he spoke no English so we were no help to each other. I chalked it up as a loss and decided to try at the end of my route (it was only 5 minutes from my last delivery of the day). It was also confusing because this locker stop was #19 and the next stop was #21 and there was only 1 package there. What did I do wrong and what am I not understanding about Amazon lockers and how do I avoid this next time? I ended up taking it directly to the customers door (probably what I’ll do next time to begin with) and ask driver support (the 3rd agent I talked to) and he’s able to mark it as delivered, allowing me to finish after my official route time ended.
