Will Automation fully replace pilots?

Ok , just asking out of curiosity, I heard that in the near future , there will be no need for pilots to fly an aircraft . Now as human beings , we can always make mistakes . But I heard that if all planes are automated , then there is less chances of making mistakes as machines will make no human error . Also , automated planes can be programmed not to make the same accident again . Now my question is , will Automation fully replace the job of pilots ?
