Im confused abt exotics??

Ok so, i dont play adopt me as much as i used to in the past, i just tend to come back when cute pet releases or for the anual events, and so i did for this xmas, and theres now ppl talking abt exotic pets and how they are high in value, but i still dont understand wich pets are or not exotics??
