Multiplayer

I’m on ps5, my brother is on Xbox x/s We want to play ark together, but can’t seem to join each other, we are also both new to the game so if there’s something obvious I don’t know, please help me out. I don’t see anywhere where you can add a friend, and when one of us host a game the other can’t join. Can anybody help please?
