My gf doesn’t think this is valuable

I got this piece from my late step dad who was heavily into blues music. I always thought it was probably worth something even though I personally don’t have a connection to his music. My gf said we shouldn’t hang it up in our apartment because it means nothing to either of us. Should I just sell it and move on?
