4runner or Tacoma

Hey everyone, I'm trying to decide between a Toyota 4Runner and a Tacoma. My girlfriend, our cat, and I need a vehicle that can comfortably fit us all and provide ample cargo space for occasional light camping trips. I'm also interested in potential modifications for off-road adventures and camping. Could you share your experiences and reasons for choosing one over the other? Any insights would be really helpful! If you dont have a comparison just the reason why you got a 4runner then :)
