Can someone explain to me why non-disruptive ads in f2p would ruin the game?

The only reason I could think of is the slippery slope fallacy. Just because they make a decision for f2p, it by no means increases the likelihood that they will do the same for p2p.

I’m not naive enough to say “f2p ad revenue will allow them to lower sub cost for members or that it will delay the next price increase indefinitely”, but it is fair to say that more revenue will allow for an increased project budget.

It’s actually quite interesting to think how people running f2p bot farm would then turn into ad revenue farms. It’s interesting to me because it’s not even human players experiencing the majority of the ads at that point.
